A Tale of Two Firehole Drives – Firehole River Canyon & Firehole Lake

Adventure Date: 08/24/2020 – 08/31/2020

There’s a Firehole River Canyon scenic drive that takes you along the Firehole River, and then there’s a Firehole Lake drive that takes you through the Lower Geyser Basin just a bit south of Firehole River Canyon.  They may be in different areas, but both are equally beautiful.

The Firehole River Canyon drive can be a bit unnerving especially if you’re not a fan of heights.  Some parts of that drive does not have barriers to protect you from falling off the cliff side.  The Firehole Lake drive, however, is pretty flat.  You’ll also get to view a geyser that erupts to a decent height too called White Dome Geyser.  Other geysers might erupt while there too.
