One of the coolest sites to visit in Yellowstone, the Grand Prismatic Spring! Aside from the horrible traffic around the area and the lack of parking, if you’re lucky enough to park close, it’s well worth the time to walk in awe of the colorful pool.
With rustic, wooden buildings that still stand from the days of homesteading in Wyoming to the Teton Range in the background, the Mormon Row Historic District is a picturesque spot to stop and wander around on your way through the Grand Teton National Park!
Another national park just to the south of Yellowstone! It would seem that a lot of people who visit Yellowstone also make the trip to the Grand Teton National Park too, and vice versa. Fortunately, we have the America the Beautiful interagency pass so we didn’t have to worry about paying to get into either park. Grant Teton had a different vibe to it probably because it’s so close to the Teton mountain range. We also noticed that there weren’t as many RVs as Yellowstone!
Norris Geyser Basin is home to the world’s tallest active geyser, hot springs, colorful pools, mud pots, and a small lake that sounds like pork skin in a deep fryer.
Most people probably pass through the Golden Gate Canyon without realizing that there’s a name and history around it. Located just south of Mammoth Hot Springs, you’ll find Rustic Falls right off the road too.
Located in Mammoth, Wyoming in the northern part of Yellowstone National Park, the Mammoth Hot Springs terraces are spectacles that’s so out of this world, it’s like walking on the surface of an alien planet. Put on your most comfortable shoes because there is an upper and lower part of the terraces. You’ll also want to walk around the small town and grab a bite to eat at the local general store and restaurants too!
