Exploring West Thumb Basin on our way back to camp.

Adventure Date: 08/24/2020 – 08/31/2020

The West Thumb Basin was not what I had expected.  It was at the bottom of the list of places to explore in Yellowstone, but I’m glad we went when we did because we saw an elk walk through the area to feed and didn’t have to put up with a huge crowd.  We were also treated to our first idiot in Yellowstone who also saw the same elk.  Instead of staying on the boardwalk, this idiot decided to get off the boardwalk to try to get as close as possible to the elk with his mobile phone.  This wasn’t the only idiot in Yellowstone that we saw while in Yellowstone though!
