Seattle – Woodland Park Zoo

We checked the time for the Space Needle before we went into the EMP Museum AND after we came out of the EMP Museum, and the wait was still 2 hours.  Instead of the Space Needle, which we heard was overrated anyways, we decided to jet on north to the Woodland Park Zoo and see what that was all about.  Sadly, due to the high winds and rainy morning, most of the animals were brought inside, but we decided to still check it out.  The zoo is fairly big with some indoor exhibits.  I also did notice that the zoo had tons of bamboo growing around the vicinity, which struck me as odd considering how far north Washington is compared to Wisconsin; but after some research I learned that most of Northwest Washington is a USDA Hardiness Zone 8, which is great for bamboo cultivation.
