Always a picturesque adventure when at Gooseberry Falls!
Last stop on our way home was Gooseberry Falls State Park where the falls area is just a short hop and skip from the parking lot.

Stopped in Grand Marais to have lunch and a few brewskis at Voyageur Brewing Company and then out for a stroll out at Artists’ Point!
On our way back home, we made a few stops along the Minnesota North Shore. Devil’s Kettle Falls is located in the Judge C. R. Magney State Park and about an hour round-trip hike to the falls area from the parking lot. My car’s battery also crapped out on us during this stop too.
After driving through Sleeping Giant and realizing that nothing was open there for activities, we decided to make a trip out to Ouimet Canyon hoping that it wouldn’t let us down either. Fortunately for us, the park area and lookout pods were open!
A waterfall on the Kaministiquia River that’s just west of Thunder Bay with views from both sides of the gorge. Kakabeka Falls was still a beautiful sight to behold even during Autumn with ice and snow forming on the banks of the rivers.
Lesson learned: don’t go to Thunder Bay during the off-season, it will be fairly quiet in terms of liveliness and activities. Nevertheless, still enjoyed finding things to do and making sure our time was well spent for a weekend trip to Canada!
