On June 7, 2025, we visited the Mississippi Headwaters at Itasca State Park, despite uncertain weather. The busy park atmosphere made photography challenging. The highlight was my wife and daughter crossing the headwaters. We also visited Alexa’s Elixir in Detroit Lakes before a thunderstorm cut our exploration short. Excited for our next trip!
On June 6, 2025, I tested my new Sony A7C II at the Minnesota Zoo, marking my transition from the A6300. I’ve always desired a full-frame camera, and this model feels familiar yet compact. Notably, it excels in low-light conditions, enhancing my photography experience with versatility in capturing images.

After starting at the Philip A. Hart Visitor Center, we were rewarded with breathtaking views of the sand dunes. We topped off our day by relaxing on the beach, soaking up the sun, and chasing waves!

Visiting Mackinac Island feels like stepping back in time, with its charming old-school architecture and car-free streets. Our group enjoyed a horse carriage tour, exploring sites like Surrey Hills Museum, Fort Mackinac, and the Butterfly Conservatory. Great day trip experience!
