Wasn’t expecting to find a Japanese Buddhist temple in Hawaii, but maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised by that considering the large amount of descendants of Japanese immigrants in Hawaii.  The temple was pretty cool to see especially with the mountains in the background.  It’s a replica of the Byodoin, a Buddhist temple and monastery, in Japan, although this one didn’t have a monastery.  However, it is used for worship, has a large statue of the Lotus Buddha inside (see images below), a koi pond in front of the temple, a large bell to the side, and a souvenir shop on the grounds.
