Hiking Diamond Head State Monument
First thing the next day of being in Oahu, Hawaii was to get up early and hike Diamond Head State Monument. Thanks to jet lag, getting up early and getting a parking spot inside the crater was a success!

Waikiki means “spouting fresh water” in Hawaiian. Amanda thought otherwise, until I told her that it’s actually a neighborhood in Hawaii famous for Waikiki Beach! Waikiki also has a special meaning to her and so for our trip to Oahu, Hawaii, I wanted to start things off on the right foot by staying in Waikiki with the beach just across the street!
It was a beautiful, sunny day and I figured since I haven’t been to the Minnesota Zoo since moving to the Twin Cities that I would go spend part of the day there with the girlfriend!
My trip to Punta Cana was fun and relaxing especially since in the Midwest it was pretty cold at the time too. Staying at an all-inclusive resort allowed us to enjoy ourselves without having to worry about food and drinks. Definitely would go to Punta Cana again!
This is not that Red Rock. This Red Rock is the Canyon, not the Amphitheatre near Denver, CO. Although, it does have similar rock structures! Spent the day here for our lazy Sunday.
After our stop at the Hoover Dam, we traveled north to the Valley of Fire. It wasn’t as hot as Hoover Dam, but we were still sweating from all the hiking. Gorgeous landscape in the middle of nowhere!
