Trip Date: January 10th – 17th, 2019
Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic was hot, a little humid, and absolutely beautiful. The temperatures throughout the week we were there was just right. It was great for lounging by the beach, the pool, wandering inside/outside the resort, and partying at nighttime. The beaches were busy all throughout the resort/hotel zone. Yachts and boats zipping around on the water. Helicopters constantly flying back and forth, taking tourists on an aerial tour of the coast around Punta Cana.
We stayed at the Ocean Blue and Sand Resort, a mid-tier all-inclusive resort. It had a fairly simple layout with most of the restaurants by the lobby, so that made it easy for many of us to gather to eat together for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The buffet food was OK with a decent selection and the a la carte restaurants were decent. The staff around the resort were very friendly and spoke/understood enough English that we didn’t have to worry too much about communication issues. A lot of the staff even remembered who we were! As for excursions, most of us went on a fishing charter that ended up with most of us getting sea sick. Another excursion that the group went on was the Marinanium snorkel cruise, which I ended up not going with due to being sick from heat exhaustion. The second-to-last night before we were to leave, we headed to Congo Bongo to party and see what the show was all about.
I didn’t take too many photos while we were there since we were on the resort most of the time, which doesn’t exactly have great photo opportunities. Even during the fishing charter trip I didn’t take any photos due to being seasick. But do checkout the following photos, especially of the sunrise!
