We wanted to experience a lu’au at least once, so we chose Paradise Cove on the west coast of Oahu where we would be able to view a sunset also in the evening. Before the lu’au however, we stopped by Electric Beach, and drove up and down Highway 93.
The Byodo-In Temple in Oahu is actually just a replica of the Byodoin in Japan. Situated in the Valley of Temples, it’s tucked in all the way near the back with the Ko’olau Range in the background.
Built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer and spanning over 400 acres, the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden is a picturesque area to get lost in while learning about the tropical plant life.
There wasn’t much of a blowhole to checkout, but the beach cove was gorgeous! As seen in the James Bond movie, “From Here to Eternity”, the beach cove is also known as “Eternity Beach”.
Woke up early to beat the crowds to Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve and snorkel for a few hours under the hot Hawaiian sun. Gets even better when admission and parking is free!
