Thunder Bay, closest large Canadian city to the Minnesota, USA border. We made our way north under the cover of dawn and got there by 11 AM EDT. Even though it was Canada, it still felt like Minnesota, just further up north than we normally would go. One thing that stood out to us as we drove into Canada was abundant amount of white birch trees throughout the landscape. The weather was chilly and cloudy most of the time we were there. For a city with a population of over 100,000 people, it felt small like Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Maybe the off-season really just dampens the mood and the amount of activity that happens. Or maybe it’s just the weather. While there, we visited Kakabeka Falls, Ouimet Canyon, and drove through Sleeping Giant. Check it out below for some random photos from Thunder Bay! More posts to come for Kakabeka Falls, Oiumet Canyon, and the North Shore of Minnesota.
