Revisiting Las Vegas – Nature is beautiful and otherworldly as always!

We went to Las Vegas, again!  Twice in a year, in the summer too.  My sister-in-law and her husband have never been to Las Vegas, so we tagged along to show them around and to visit/do things we missed out the previous time.

This time around however, the weather was killer hot! Average in the high 90s, low 100s every day we were there.  Even on the days that had rain!  That’s nature for you though and nature around Las Vegas doesn’t play at all!

I am always impressed by the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area every time I go there.  But what’s even more impressive is the Valley of Fire State Park.  The Valley of Fire landscape is so otherworldly that you’d think that you had just landed on Mars.  You might even get to see desert bighorn sheep grazing on the side of road like we did!  Keep an eye out for petroglyphs also at both Red Rock Canyon and the Valley of Fire!  We saw a few while we explored and hiked around the areas.

The Hoover Dam is always impressive to see no matter how matter times I’ve been there.  It’s one of the great engineering marvels in this world so why wouldn’t it be impressive? Seeing it from the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge gives you an even more imposing feeling of how big the dam really is in terms of scale.

See the below map for areas we visited this time around on our visit to Vegas:

As always, check out the photos below of the places we visited for this post:
