When my wife and I visit places, we always try to include at least one museum on the itinerary. To me, museums act as tools to showcase history through visuals. They’re fun places to visit to continue learning well into our adult years. During this trip to Washington, we hopped on over to the Museum of Pop Culture and Chihuly Garden and Glass!
The Museum of Pop Culture, with this being my 2nd time there, was still as captivating as ever with their exhibits. Though it seemed so much smaller than last time, we explored the following exhibits that they currently had such as:
- Contact High: A Visual History of Hip-Hop
- Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses
- Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction
- Indie Game Revolution
- Pearl Jam: Home and Away
- Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic
- Scared to Death: The Thrill of Horror Film
- Guitar Gallery
At Chihuly Garden and Glass, we were able to see some of the very beautiful and large glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly. Some of these works of arts were so large in scale I had to use my ultra-wide lens to capture the whole thing. These two museums are near each other so it was convenient to go to both while we waited to go up the Space Needle!
