Home AdventuresU.S.A. Pineapples at the Dole Plantation

Pineapples at the Dole Plantation

by Bryan Lor

Trip Date: August 14th – 24th, 2019

I’ve got mixed feelings about the Dole Plantation.  It’s definitely one of the bigger tourist traps on the island, but I did enjoy some parts of it.  We paid admission for the garden and the ride on the Pineapple Express train.  The train ride wasn’t too bad, but it was pretty short.  We got a glimpse of some of the fields that were used for growing pineapples and also some areas where they were growing other tropical fruits.  The garden was okay.  Most of the plants we saw there we had already seen elsewhere like at Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden.  Upside though is that the Dole Whip was very delicious.  The gift shop had gifts for everyone of all ages.  They were certainly raking in the money because the parking lot was full along with the gift shop when we got there.  Enjoy some pictures from the stop!
